National Asthma Council Australia

The National Asthma Council Australia (Opens in new tab) (NAC) is a not-for-profit organisation working to improve health outcomes and quality of life for people with asthma.

As the leading national authority for asthma knowledge, the NAC sets the standard for asthma care in Australia, with responsive and evidence-based asthma guidelines - the Australian Asthma Handbook (Opens in new tab), practice tools and resources (Opens in new tab)and renowned education program (Opens in new tab).

The NAC provides information and advice on managing asthma and allergies for children, adolescents and adults.

This includes how to videos (Opens in new tab) on the correct use of various asthma medications and devices, fact sheets (Opens in new tab), asthma action plans (Opens in new tab), and recognising the signs of a severe asthma attack and access to First Aid Charts (Opens in new tab).

The National Asthma Council Australia is a collaboration of four member bodies:

• Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy
• Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association
• The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia
• The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners
